YOU GOTS TO CHILLLLL
KINDA OFFENDED
Mid-Terms
ITS MID TERM TIME...YAYYYYYYY!!!!! ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK, AND STUDYING IS ABOUT TO BE PROVEN!!! SIKE!!! FOR ALL THE REAL PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO PARTY ON STUDY GROUP NIGHTS,AND PROBABLY HAVENT OPENED THEIR BOOK OR SYLLABUS OUT SIDE OF CLASS, HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL HINTS. DONT STRESS CHARLIE ;-)
Preparing Ahead for Midterms and Finals
Sleep and nutrition are important factors in keeping your mind and body alert. Avoid things like junk food, cigarettes, and caffeine in the days prior to the test day. These things take a physical toll on your stamina. You’ll need it!
Learn a few breathing and meditation exercises in the weeks or days leading up to your exams. These are great for relieving stress. Practice the techniques so that you’ll be ready to relax your mind between test times.
Exercise your hand! It may sound crazy now, but if your hand starts to cramp up during your first exam from extended writing, you could be in real trouble for your second exam. Practice writing in a note pad in the weeks before your midterms or finals.
Bring a snack in your book bag for a quick bite between exams. Nothing too heavy, though. Too much food can make you sleepy.
If your tests will take place in an unfamiliar building, scope out your testing rooms ahead of time. You don’t want to be late for either test!
Pack all the tools you’ll need the night before. Include extra pencils and pens.
Between the Tests
Ask your teacher if you can leave the classroom as soon as you finish the first test. This will give you more time to prepare for the next exam.
After you finish the first test, try to find a quiet place where you can be alone and clear your head for awhile. If you can’t find a place where you can be completely alone, make an effort to tune out other students. They may be talking about tests, and your goal is to block out any stressful thoughts.
If you eat something, stick with ice water for your drink. Sodas contain sugar and this can affect your mood and your stress level.
Walk outside if it’s cool. Fresh air is rejuvenating.
If it’s not cold out or if you can’t go outside to refresh yourself, try splashing some cold water on your face. Better yet, if you have the time and it’s not too weird, try splashing cold water on your feet. This is really refreshing.
Chew a refreshing mint gum and drink cold water.
Practice your relaxation and meditation techniques.
Do some stretches. Roll your head around to stretch and flex your neck and shoulder muscles.
Gather all the necessary tools for your second tests so that you enter the room fully prepared. Go to your second test room twenty minutes early, if possible. It is sometimes calming to review your notes in the actual room where your test will take place.NOW IF THAT DOESNT WORK , THEN CRAM- PRAY-AND CHEAT!(BUT DONT GET CAUGHT) SHALOM HAS SPOKEN!

POLITICS AS USUAL

New Interview posted yesterday with our boy young HOV, check it out....
With nearly 40 million albums sold and a business empire that includes clothing, fragrances, the New Jersey Nets, sports bars, liquor, and hotels, Jay-Z has transformed himself into one of the most potent brands in the world

Published: April 2009 [ Updated: March 2009 ]
"With education comes refinement," Jay-Z observes late one Friday afternoon. He's lounging on a couch in a studio at the Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment complex on the far west side of Manhattan and speaking between nibbles of a takeout salad in a plastic container and sips from a bottle of water. In his everyday speech, as in his raps, Jay-Z is inclined toward aphorisms, the compressed expression of complicated ideas, delivered with rhetorical flair. It's hard-earned wisdom, graced by a poet's touch. He is relaxing after a typically jam-packed day that included a photo shoot, an interview, and a meeting about his potential involvement in a forthcoming video game. He celebrated his 39th birthday the night before with the staff of his Rocawear clothing line, so a mild fatigue has set in. Slender and six feet three inches tall, Jay-Z is an imposing figure, even in relative repose. He's wearing distressed jeans that hang loosely from the middle of his hips, black sneakers, and a long-sleeved black T-shirt that has replaced the pristine short-sleeved white one he wore before changing for his photo shoot. The look is studiously casual...until you glance at his left wrist and notice a diamond watch so thick it could pass for a weight band.
The winter sky is growing gray in the bank of windows behind him as the sun sets over the Hudson River. Jay-Z returns to the narrative of what, in the 19th century, would have been called his sentimental education, the education of his emotional life. That journey to refinement began in the rugged Marcy Projects in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant district, and now continues in arenas and boardrooms, in posh homes and VIP hideaways, around the world.Jay-Z feels comfortable in all of these realms. "I've never looked at myself and said that I need to be a certain way to be around a certain sort of people," he explains. "I've always wanted to stay true to myself, and I've managed to do that. People have to accept that. I collect art, and I drink wine...things that I like that I had never been exposed to. But I never said, 'I'm going to buy art to impress this crowd.' That's just ridiculous to me. I don't live my life like that, because how could you be happy with yourself?"
Staying true to yourself might stand as a succinct summary of Jay-Z's philosophy of success. The notion goes back to Shakespeare's "To thine own self be true," and further back than that to the Greeks. But for Jay-Z, it has an urgently contemporary meaning. Even, or perhaps, especially, in recessionary times, amid the thousands of entertainment and lifestyle choices consumers have available to them, what separates winners from losers is a commitment to a single proposition: You are the product. If people believe in you, they will believe in what you create. Jay-Z understands this and is down with it.
By selling nearly 40 million albums and building a business empire that extends far beyond music into clothing, fragrances, the New Jersey Nets, sports bars, liquor, and hotels (to name just a few of his seemingly innumerable investments), Jay-Z has transformed himself into one of the most potent brands in the world. But that brand retains its power only if people remain convinced that the product they are purchasing somehow genuinely reflects Jay-Z and his tastes. As he famously put it in one of his raps, "I'm not a businessman/I'm a business, man."
"My brands are an extension of me," he says. "They're close to me. It's not like running GM, where there's no emotional attachment." The reference is apt, given the government's ongoing potential bailout of two major automobile companies. Jay-Z notes that resonance with a pause and a chuckle. ... read more here >>>

HSBC, Wells Fargo Accused Of Racism In Mortgage Issuing
The NAACP this week filed a class action suit accusing Wells Fargo and HSBC of charging unfairly high interest rates to African American homeowners with high incomes and high credit scores. The banks were quick to slap down the charges as "totally unfounded and reckless," even in the face of convincing evidence from the NAACP.
The lawsuit cites several studies that document discrimination, including a 2006 report by the Center for Responsible Lending that found black people were 31 percent to 34 percent more likely to receive higher-rate subprime loans. The suit claims the banks violated the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Civil Rights Act.
"Generations of African Americans have been deprived of the opportunity to participate in the American dream by banks that refused to give them mortgage loans simply because of the color of their skin or placed them in unfavorable loans that decimate them financially," the suit states. "It is beyond dispute that the African American community has long been the victim of discriminatory banking practices."
Jealous said subprime mortgages, intended for people with poor credit, were given to African-Americans who qualified for better loans 54 percent of the time compared with 23 percent for white people.
The class includes any African American who received a subprime loan even though they qualified for a standard loan. The NAACP was set to name a third bank in the suit but the still-unnamed bank escaped the outing by settling before the suit was filed.

POMPOUS APPAREL

When i was first introduced to this line i was at Sommerset with Sebastian Jackson talking business. It was a hand painted Tee, very crude in my eye sight, didnt think much of it, but the art work of Blue Bledsoe (designer of Pompous Apparel) has never been her strong point, Blue has style, and a mass amount of innovative creativity, i watched as she went from that shirt i saw in sommerset, to a shirt on G.O.O.D Music recording artist Big Sean at his contract signing, to being Featured in the highly Acclaimed "Fashion Masacre" hosted by Tyna Logan of Fanciee Apparel, Blue has a knack for taking things we see on the frequent and making them cool, opposed to played out and another addition to the "Fad" a lot of us forget that the word fashion means, Change, Evolution, Growth...these three words perfectly describes Blue and her Pompous Apparel line.. check out her clothes at iampompous.com i promise you wont be dissapointed

STEM CELL REASEARCH

I recently had a conversation with an ex-co worker, and we were speaking about Obama turning over Bush's Stem Cell Research policy. Allowing research to continue, and help cancer patients, stroke victims etc. this research allows us to possibly create cures and give proper treatments to these victims. some people think this is Un-Godly and down right wrong, but the four fathers and the pilgrims who came here, came because they didnt want to be forced into religion and policies they didnt believe in. So with that being said what all the fuss over Stem Cell Research?
